In Part IV of this series, I look at districts in which voters preferred Al Gore over George Bush in 2000, but nonetheless voted Republican in the 2002 Congressional races. That these districts weren't on board with the George Bush experience from the start suggests that they were also among the first to begin losing faith in him. At a minimum, Democrats should win the few open seats in this group.

Gore won, 54.6% to 41.1%. With Jack Quinn's retirement, Republican Nancy Naples will face a September 14 primary winner, probably either Brian Higgins or Paul Clark. Clark and Higgins are first and second in the money race, respectively.
PA-06
Gore won, 49.1% to 48.6%. Incumbent Jim Gerlach is opposed by Lois Murphy.
PA-07
Gore won, 50.5% to 47.3%. Incumbent Curt Weldon's original opponent was called up to Iraq. No comment. Weldon will now face County Vice Chair Paul Scoles.

Gore won, 51.4% to 46.3%. Guess what? Incumbent Jim Greenwood is retiring. The Democratic nominee is Ginny Schrader, as if you didn't know.
PA-15
Gore won, 49.1% to 48.1%. With Toomey leaving this seat in an unsuccessful primary challenge to Specter, Republican Charlie Dent faces Joe Driscoll.
WA-08
Gore won, 48.6% to 47.3%. With Jennifer Dunn retiring, Alex Alben faces all comers.
